Conservation Commission adds voting member, pursues lakefront property

NH BROOKFIELD — Brookfield Conservation Commission appoints new voting member, pursues lakefront option. The commission unanimously appointed Jen McKown as a full voting member and Jeremy Marcotte as an alternate member. Commissioners voted to authorize the Select Board to express the town's interest in purchasing three parcels along Kingswood Lake offered by the state Department of Environmental Services.
Chair Frank Frazier reported completing four of eleven requested signs for a heritage site preservation project, while the commission discussed trail maintenance, bluebird house placement in the Preserve and cemetery, and plans to certify vernal pools with the state to protect amphibian habitat.
