Conservation Commission approves minutes, discusses preserve concerns

NH BROOKFIELD — Brookfield Conservation Commission approves minutes, authorizes preserve survey. The commission unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and discussed concerns that September mowing of the preserve's historic area may be too early for nesting birds, tasking Chair Frank Frazier to consult with the Heritage Commission on revised timing. Members Faith Buell and Jen McKown were authorized to conduct an initial survey of a 17-acre section to assess potential Old Growth Forest designation.
The commission also received Department of Environmental Services approval for a wetlands application and noted progress on trail improvements and the bluebird house project.
