Conservation Commission orders bid for Cottle Hill trail clearing

NH BROOKFIELD — Conservation Commission bids out overgrown preserve entrance work. Chair Frank Frazier reported that the Cottle Hill Road entrance to the Preserve has become too overgrown to navigate, with unclear trail delineation now that the Hackett Site was featured in the New Hampshire Preservation Society's annual scavenger hunt, drawing increased visitors. The Commission voted 4-1 to bid out clearing work twice yearly, with member Leah Gage dissenting.
Member Pat Girard moved the motion; member Jen McKown seconded. The Commission also delayed completion of a new Loop Trail due to hazards from stumps and debris until temperatures cool.
