Planning Board OKs temporary permit for Moose Mountain Gravel Pit
Planning Board · Meeting of April 30, 2026
NH BROOKFIELD — Brookfield Planning Board unanimously approves gravel pit excavation permit. Vice Chair Marshal Goldberg led a 6-0 vote to issue a temporary permit for TW Excavating & Development, Corp to continue operations at Moose Mountain Gravel Pit at 139 Moose Mountain Road. The permit, effective April 30, 2026, allows uninterrupted operations while applicants finalize a reclamation site plan to be submitted before the May 11 meeting.
Board member Donna Faucette raised concerns about the proposed 10,000 cubic yards of material and heavy-truck impacts on town roads and a state red-listed bridge, which the town had committed $200,000 to study for engineering upgrades; the board agreed to investigate the property's current-use tax classification compatibility with ongoing excavation.
