Planning Board Streamlines Pit Permitting to Meet State Deadline

Planning Board · Meeting of March 16, 2026

NH BROOKFIELD — Brookfield Planning Board streamlines gravel pit oversight to meet state deadline. The board unanimously approved a simplified permit form for two existing grandfathered pits on Governor's Road and Moose Mountain Road, requiring only basic operator information and minimal state-mandated items under RSA 155-E. State inspector Noah Hoffman requires fully completed Intent to Excavate forms by April 1, 2026.

The board waived extensive excavation and reclamation plans for the 2026-27 cycle to prevent operational disruption. Ed Ingalls was elected Chair and Marshall Goldberg as Vice Chair; new member Donna Faucette, with over ten years of planning board experience, was welcomed.
