NH BROOKFIELD — Brookfield selectmen approve $1.58 million budget and warrant articles for town meeting. The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to approve the 2026 operating budget of $1,581,282 and recommend warrant articles totaling $286,000 in appropriations. Two articles request $207,000 total ($62,000 and $145,000) for engineering, permitting, and design on the red-listed Moose Mountain Bridge, which is uninsured.

Road Agent Chris Kinville worked with the Strafford Regional Planning Commission on the repair plan; if approved by voters, repairs would begin in 2027, funded through a bond supplemented by grant money. Other articles address service-related disability tax credits, elderly property exemptions, and capital reserve deposits.
