Selectmen Reorganize, Plan 2026 Capital Improvements

NH BROOKFIELD — Brookfield Board of Selectmen holds its 2026 reorganization and identifies capital improvement priorities. Richard Zacher elected chairman, Austin Fifield vice chairman, with newly elected member Jan Ledbetter assigned to Joint Loss, Municipal Records, and Zoning Board committees. The board identified 5,000 dollars in ADA accessibility improvements (modular aluminum ramp platform), Town House acoustics, garage updates, and heat pump installation as 2026 priorities, while approving a 110,140 dollar and 46 cent manifest that included 108,000 dollars to Governor Wentworth Regional School District.
Tax Collector Rose Zacher reported liens placed on 23 properties for unpaid 2025 taxes totaling 72,265 dollars and 40 cents, with town-wide back taxes reaching 128,000 dollars.
